From her first service event, Isabel Hurtado has been a devoted member of UH CKI. She’s been a reliable member at most of our events, from enduring 8 hours behind the scenes fundraising at our Beyonce concert event, to being an inviting and energetic person at our bake sales and meetings! She also makes delicious “indigenous/Mexican” brownies. For this reason, Isabel is our September member of the month.

Jeffrey Rodriguez has been in our club for two years now. He’s seen us grow from the beginning, and over the months, he’s integrated himself as a reliable and dedicated member of our club. Whether it’s always offering carpool to our service events (and he lives far!), to voluntarily taking pictures of the members at our events so that everyone feels included, or simply being a nice guy who hangs out with the rest of the CKI family at our meetings, it’s undoubtable that Jeff is one of our most loved members.

Gabrielle Nguyen attends a lot of our events, gets along well with members and even made stickers for everyone! Out of all the members she’s one of the most spirited and her excitement is contagious amongst the rest of the family.
|
David Nguyen is extremely active in our various events, and has shown himself capable of demonstrating his leadership capabilities. He is also a reliable respondent to trivia questions in our weekly emails.
|
Joy Williams is also a Member of the Month for November. She is a reliable volunteer at our events, including our Beyonce concert fundraiser and all of our in-meeting service projects.

Vincent Tangavelou has been a constant presence at CKI events ever since he first joined. He has always offered to provide carpooling, and regularly attends our service events. He has gone above and beyond the call of duty by also providing an unexpected source of fellowship in our club: making CKI-related memes to lift everyone’s spirit. His memes often gain a laugh from members in our GroupMe devoted to CKI spam. Aside from his clear commitment to service, Vincent is just a swell and pleasant guy to be friends with, and for that reason, he is our Outstanding Member of the Month for January 2019.

Alyssa joined our chapter last semester and has been one of our most active members since the beginning. She's been a friendly member of UH CKI and isn't afraid to talk to members of other CKI chapters. She makes the effort to attend our chapter events and even divisional or district events! She went beyond by teaching other members who were not able to make it to the DCON Talent show dance rehearsals their part of routine. Despite having a group project meeting for a class on Committee Chair election day, she rearranged her schedule so that she could come in for a bit and present her speech.

Erica recently joined CKI this spring semester and has been active this month! Back when executive officer elections were held, she ran for Secretary. Unfortunately, there was not enough votes to elect her into the position. However, that did not stop her because she went on to apply for Service Chair and now she's part of the UH CKI Officer Board! Erica attended DCON and has been active in finding service projects for the club since being elected into a chair position. She helps connect Circle K to campus resources due to her on-campus job.

Hoang is not a UH student but became a member after being introduced to CKI through David, the Treasurer for the next year. He shows up to events from time to time when he have time to visit. He attended DCON with us, and even participated in the talent show! He made time to attend rehearsals to learn his dance parts. Hoang has a YouTube channel full of vlogs. He also participated in our WASH Tournament during WASH Week where he got to win some prizes! Because he is very active despite not being a student at UH, we nominate him as March Member of the Month.

Ruth has been a member of CKI for 3 years, and she will be graduating in a month. We are really grateful that she has stayed with us for so long. She was the Social Chair last year, helping members bond in ice breaker games and social events. She attended her first DCON this year. During our in-meeting service where we make hygiene and craft kits, she would participate and help make more than required. For that, we want to recognize her as March member of the month!
